Our Story
Yuma reptile rescue is at the heart of what we do. Beauties of the Beasts Animal Rescue, Inc. is a volunteer-powered 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Yuma, AZ and surrounding communities. We provide safe intake, triage, husbandry correction, and responsible rehoming for snakes, lizards, and amphibians—while teaching humane care to prevent future surrenders.
Our Mission
We exist to make surrender simple, ethical, and stress-reduced for both people and animals. Life happens—moves, housing changes, family shifts—and sometimes enclosures or knowledge aren’t the right fit for an animal’s needs. Our Yuma reptile rescue provides a 3-step, confidential intake, stabilizes animals with proper heat/UVB and nutrition, and matches reptiles with vetted adopters who understand species-specific care.

Our team has years of hands-on experience with common species (ball pythons, corn snakes, kingsnakes, bearded dragons, leopard geckos, etc.) and with the realities of rescue work: intake, triage, hydration, nutrition, secure housing, and behavioral observation. We’ve partnered with local families, shelters, and veterinarians to deliver reliable outcomes that put animal welfare first.

What We Accept
We typically accept most non-venomous snakes and common pet lizards. When we’re at capacity or a case requires species-specific care, we’ll work with trusted partners to help you find the right solution. For restricted species or wildlife questions, please contact Arizona Game & Fish for guidance.
Our Process (3 Steps)
- Contact & Intake — Submit a confidential form with photos of the animal and current setup, plus any history or concerns.
- Triage & Stabilize — We prioritize urgent cases, review husbandry, and correct heat/UVB, hydration, and diet.
- Rehome Responsibly — We match reptiles with vetted adopters and provide education to reduce re-surrenders.

Impact & Education
As a Yuma reptile rescue, our work doesn’t end when a reptile is placed. We offer continuous education and hands-on guidance so adopters (and the community) understand lighting (heat + UVB), hydration, diet, enclosure size, enrichment, and safe handling. This reduces stress for animals and improves quality of life.
