Our Programs

Reptile Rescue Programs for Yuma & All of Arizona

Compassionate intake, rehabilitation, education, and rehoming—our 501(c)(3) nonprofit keeps reptiles safe and families supported.

At Beauties of the Beasts, our reptile rescue programs are built to prevent suffering and reduce surrenders. From confidential intake and triage to hands-on education and responsible rehoming, we help snakes, lizards, and amphibians get the right care—and help people feel confident giving it. Contact us to book a training session.

What Sets Our Reptile Rescue Programs Apart

Evidence-based husbandry.

Fast, judgment-free intake.

Education that prevents future surrenders.

Intake & Triage

Confidential, judgment-free intake for snakes, lizards, and amphibians. We stabilize temperature, hydration, and stress day one.

Rehabilitation & Recovery

Proper heat/UVB, safe feeding schedules, and clean sheds. We help reptiles regain strength with species-appropriate care.

Education & Outreach

Classes for families, schools, and shelters. Learn handling, enclosure design, nutrition, and the “why” behind reptile care.

Adoption & Rehoming

When stable and ready, reptiles are matched with vetted adopters and supported with coaching and care guides.

Emergency Support & Supplies

Limited kits (heat/UVB/hides) for urgent needs, plus short-term help to stabilize husbandry and reduce stress.

Volunteer & Partnerships

Transport, events, photo/social, or partner intake. Shelters and clinics: ask about collaboration and training.

Start Making a Measurable Difference

Your support powers reptile rescue programs that prevent neglect, reduce surrenders, and keep families informed. Whether you donate, volunteer, or request a class, you’re helping animals and the people who love them.

Helpful Links

Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV): This is a professional organization for veterinarians specializing in reptiles and amphibians. Their website often has resources on proper husbandry, common diseases, and finding a qualified reptile vet, which is crucial for rescue operations.

Melissa Kaplan’s Herp Care Collection: This site is an incredibly comprehensive resource for reptile husbandry. While it’s an older site in terms of design, the information is meticulously researched and highly respected in the reptile community. It covers everything from basic care to complex medical issues.

The Reptile Database: A scientific database listing all known reptile species. While not directly about rescue, it’s invaluable for identifying species, understanding their natural range, and thus inferring their environmental needs.
